WELCOME TO THE GLASGOW CHILDCARE FORUMS WEBSITE
There are currently ten locality Childcare forums which operate in line with the Glasgow community planning boundary areas. The forums form the infrastructure of the Glasgow Early Childhood and
Extended Services Partnership, and play
a fundamental role in considering and informing future service provision within our local communities.
The Early Childhood and Extended Services Partnership, formerly known as the Glasgow Education/Childcare Partnership Board, was established in March 1999 in response to the 1998 Government Paper “Meeting the Childcare Challenge: A Childcare Strategy for Scotland”.
Membership of the Partnership is made up of representatives from a range of key agencies and organisations with a relevant interest in the provision of services for children and families in Glasgow.
The Early Childhood and Extended Services Partnership undertakes a vital role in the development of services for children and families across Glasgow, and feeds into Glasgow City Council strategic planning structures.
The Partnership are working towards a vision for childcare in the city where there is an integrated, comprehensive range of childcare services, which are accessible, affordable, flexible, high quality and meet the needs of communities and individuals across the city.
